International Algebraic Conference dedicated to the memory of Z.I.BorevichSt-Petersburg, Russia September 17-23, 2002
The conference will cover all areas of Algebra, with special emphasis on topics close to the research interests of Borevich. We plan plenary talks and both major talks and short communications in six thematic sections: Group Theory, Rings and Modules, Algebraic Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Algebraic Groups and Representations, General and Algorithmic Algebra. We plan to publish a Borevich memorial volume with selected surveys and abstracts of talks. If you intend to submit an abstract for publication, please send us a TeX-file (preferably in the AMS-TeX format, to minimize possible editing errors) 1 or 2 pages in English or Russian. The deadline for submission is June 01. The conference will be held in the Main Building of the University in the historical heart of Saint-Petersburg, 10 minutes walk along the Neva embankment from the Winter Palace, the former official Residence of the Russian Tsars, which now houses the famous Hermitage museum, and 15--20 minutes walk from Peter and Paul Fortress, Saint Isaac Cathedral, Nevsky Prospect, the Russian Museum, and other major tourist attractions. Accomodations Information: We can assist you in finding accomodation, ranging from centrally located *** or **** hotels (starting with 60--80 USD per day, single occupancy, preferential rate for Conference participants), modest ** hotels (starting with 40 USD per day), student hostels and/or private rooms (starting with 10--15 USD per day per person). Registration fee: The registration fee which will cover part of the cultural program, conference dinner, conference materials and other organisation expenses, is 130 USD (65 USD for accompanying persons), to be paid in cash or traveller cheques upon arrival.
