UMS Online

The latest version of Universal Math Solver is UMS Online 9.9.5.2 (August 17, 2010).

UMS is designed to solve and explain mathematical problems entered by the user. This program provides step-by-step solutions to most problems in arithmetic, algebra and introductory/intermediate calculus for middle- to high-school students and first year university students. All solutions are accompanied by step-by-step verbal and written commentaries, graphs and tables. In its current form (version 9.9) UMS can completely solve all problems drawn from the following domains of mathematics:

• factoring of polynomial
• complete factoring of polynomial
• simplification of the following expressions:
algebraic expressions, which can include radicals or logarithms
numerical expressions, possibly involving radicals or logarithms
• expansion of algebraic expressions
• equations, where the equation can be:
rational, irrational, logarithmic and exponential
equation with absolute value
equation with parameters
• simultaneous equations, where any equation can be:
rational, irrational, logarithmic and exponential
equation with absolute value
equation with parameters
• inequalities, where inequality can be:
rational, irrational, logarithmic and exponential

rational, logarithmic, and with absolute value
• differentiation of algebraic expressions, including trigonometric functions and exponent
• analysis of the rational functions with the aid of derivatives

• UMS Software has a very simple and clear interface; its use does not require any additional specific skills or training.
• You can enter math problem in WYSIWYG way, so the formula you see would be similar to the one in a textbook.
• Separate window for each exercise allowing multiple exercises to be solved simultaneously.
• Solution can be converted and saved to an MS Word file.

UMS Online includes UMS Calculator and UMS Arithmetic.

UMS Software includes a collection of math problems sorted by topic and level of complexity. Each problem you solve can be saved into this database. Users can work with the existing database or create their own custom collections. UMS can choose a problem from the UMS collection similar to the last solved one.

The Universal Math Solver is able to:

UMS Online works jointly with a UMS server that requires access to the Internet.

UMS Math Editor

UMS Math Editor is the newest formula and text editor, designed for fast editing of papers containing mathematical formulas and tables. It is unique in its simplicity, intuitive interface, productivity and range of features.

It is also compatible with MS Word and files created in the UMS Math Editor are convertible and editable in the MS Word format.

UMS Math Editor is compatible with the UMS solver program so all calculations, formulas, charts, diagrams, functions and tables created in the UMS solver can be transferred and edited in the UMS Math Editor. Any user that has a need to edit papers containing many mathematical formulas would benefit from the UMS Editor.

UMS Arithmetic

This module is designed for elementary and middle school students. It explains in detail the computation of arithmetic expressions - arithmetic operations with common, decimal and mixed fractions.

UMS Arithmetic is included in the UMS Online program.

UMS Calculator

UMS Calculator is such a simple and intuitive tool that even an inexperienced user will be able to calculate the values of functions of any complexity, summations of series, limits, derivatives, etc. All calculations can be easily inserted into the UMS Math Editor and converted into MS Word format. UMS Calculator has a multi-window editor; allowing for the entry of complex formulas with constants and variables in the same format as they would be recorded by hand in a notebook.
